The offshore wind sector in the North Sea countries has been a resounding success. Recently, concerns have grown about the business case or investment case for new offshore wind farms. These concerns go further than the offshore wind sector alone and require a deeper understanding of the dynamics of the evolving energy system. Lifting these concerns with policy adjustments beyond the electricity sector could blow new wind in the sails of the sector to achieve its potential to deliver on its promise for domestic energy production in the Northwest European region.
